A clearly audible step forward from Rocket 11, Rocket 22 is an ideal cable for Full Range or Single BiWire. In Single-BiWire configuration it optimises performance when speakers have Bass and Treble inputs.
BiWiring reduces cable distortion: removing great bass energy from the cable carrying the most delicate treble is like removing waves from the water when you (the treble) are trying to swim. The magnetic range of the Rocket 22's separate halves maximises the advantage of BiWire.
Semi-solid concentric conductors are a far superior performance alternative to typical stranded conductors. Semi-solid concentric conductors use fewer, larger wires that do not change position along the length of the cable. Strands maintain their fixed and rigid relationships, reducing distortion, improving resolution and dynamics, and greatly minimising harshness and confusion due to interaction between them.
Perfect Surface Copper / Long Grain Copper: LGC has fewer oxides in the conductor material, fewer impurities and less grain boundaries than standard OFHC copper. LGC is used for the Rocket 22 conductors located in the central area of the semi-solid concentric conductor bundle. PSC, with its surprisingly smooth surface, is used for the outer conductor layer in Rocket 22's concentric semi-solid conductor bundle. It is this outer layer of conductors that has the greatest effect on the clarity and smoothness of Rocket 22. Careful application of PSC and LGC allows performance closer to the use of only the most expensive PSC, while gaining the economic advantage of the superb LGC.
Double geometry with low inductance: a ‘normal’ speaker cable has a rather high inductance, diffusing energy over time and making the sound dull and fuzzy. The two conductors in each half of Rocket 22 offer lower inductance, greater clarity and superior bass-to-treble frequency extension.
FEATURES
Long Grain and Perfect Surface Copper Conductors: Rocket 22 uses a carefully finished blend of Long Grain Copper (LGC) and Perfect Surface Perforated Copper (PSC). LGC has fewer impurities and fewer internal grain joints than standard OFHC copper, while the even smoother and cleaner surface of PSC further eliminates hardness and improves clarity. All AudioQuest conductors are directionally controlled for optimal noise dissipation.
Ideal for Full-Range or Single-BiWire configurations: Use Rocket 22 as a full-range cable, with red (+) and black (-) conductors bundled together, or, when speakers provide separate bass and treble inputs, further optimise system performance by biwiring.
Semi-solid True-Concentrent conductor design: In a True-Concentric conductor design, each successive layer of conductor spiral moves in the opposite direction to its underlying layer. This technique eliminates contact lines between adjacent conductor layers, while increasing the pressure at the contact points, thereby significantly reducing contact wire interaction and its accompanying distortion.
Dual Low-Inductance Geometry: A typical loudspeaker cable with parallel conductors has a rather high inductance, which scatters energy over time, resulting in a dull, fuzzy sound. In Rocket 11, the two conductors in each half of the cable are twisted around each other, providing lower inductance, greater clarity and superior bass frequency extension
AudioQuest SureGrip 300 forks or bananas, with Direct-Silver plating without a distortion-causing nickel intermediate layer, are the perfect complement to the Rocket 22.
