A coaxial cable is used where a small outer diameter is required in connection with a large wire cross-section. Especially for cable ducts where the loudspeaker cable is located between cables that emit strong interference. Normally, copper mesh shielding is used for coaxial cables. However, this will make them unnecessarily rigid and inflexible, making multiple winding almost impossible.
For our SPK cables, we use a double helical mesh shielding in Cu with inverted strands. This offers better shielding than conventional copper braiding and makes the cable incredibly flexible.
When used as loudspeaker cable, the braided screen is used as a second conductor. It has the same cross-section as the inner conductor.
