AudioQuest Digital Coax cables are designed to minimise distortion over an extremely wide bandwidth. For many applications, the speed of digital communication is important. Most visibly, 'speed' is about transferring large files as quickly as possible or transferring enough data for HD video. For Coax digital audio, 'speed' is critical because of the time-consuming nature of the relationship between music and joy to our ears. Time-based damage (jitter) to the information in the data packet makes sound small and flat instead of 3D, hard and foggy instead of smooth and clear.

AudioQuest's High Speed Digital Cables have garnered almost universal acclaim from reviewers, manufacturers, retailers, and end users. In recent years, the need for superior versions of digital cables such as AES/EBU and Digital Coax has increased, and AudioQuest has not lagged behind and has unveiled to the world its new line of Digital Coaxial Cables that feature the latest AQ design techniques and materials. The Carbon Digital Audio Coax has a 5% silver content in the conductors that reduces distortion while improving sound. Furthermore, like all Audioquest Digital Cables, the Carbon features the effective DNS System and typical cable shielding systems that absorb and then drain the noise.Come and try it and you will see that with the Carbon Digital Coaxial Cable you will discover an improvement you have never experienced before.

FEATURES

5% SOLID SILVER CONDUCTORS IMPROVE ANALOGUE PERFORMANCE: Solid conductors eliminate interaction distortion between the strands and reduce jitter. Silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high frequency applications. These signals, being high-frequency, travel almost exclusively on the conductor surface. Since the surface is pure silver, the performance is very similar to that of a solid silver cable, but much closer to solid copper cable. This is an incredibly economical way to produce digital coaxial cables of the highest quality.

INJECTED-CELL HARD FOAM INSULATION: Nitrogen-injected cell hard foam insulation is used exclusively in most AudioQuest audio and video cables. Similar to Foamed-PE, it is injected with nitrogen to create air pockets. Hard' foam is used because the stiffness of the material allows the cable conductors to maintain the same relationship to each other along the entire length of the cable, thus ensuring that the cable's characteristic impedance is consistent.

100% SHIELD COVER (FOIL + SILVERED BRACING): Shielding always plays an important role in any cable design, but the shield on the coaxial interconnect plays a key role because it functions not only as a shield but also as a return path. For this reason, AudioQuest pays special attention to the quality of the shield metal and manufacturing techniques as both affect sound and image.

5-LAYER CARBON-BASED NOISE DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS): 100% shield coverage is easy to achieve. Preventing captured radio interference (RFI) from the modulation of the equipment's ground reference requires QA's Noise Dissipation System (NDS). Conventional shielding systems typically absorb and then discharge noise/ RF energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical 'reference' ground plane, which in turn causes signal distortion. Alternating layers of metal NDS and carbon-filled synthetics 'shield the screen', absorbing and reflecting most of this noise / RF energy before it reaches the grounded layer.
