AudioQuest Digital Coaxial Cables are designed to minimise distortion across extremely wide bandwidths. For many applications, the speed of digital communication is important. Speed' is about transferring large files as quickly as possible or transporting enough data for HD video. For Digital Coax audio, 'speed' is not understood as how much-less fast the signal is transmitted, but because the time relationships within a digital stream are crucial for the reconstruction of the analogue waveform that brings information, music and joy to our ears. Time-based errors (jitter) to this information within the data packet makes the sound small and flat instead of 3D, harsh and foggy instead of smooth and clear.

FEATURES

10% SILVER SOLID CONDUCTORS: Solid conductors eliminate interaction distortion between the strands and reduce jitter. Silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high frequency applications. These signals, being high-frequency, travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. Since the surface is pure silver, the performance is very similar to that of a solid silver cable, but much closer to solid copper cable. This is an incredibly economical way to produce digital coaxial cables of the highest quality.

INJECTED-CELL HARD FOAM INSULATION: Nitrogen-injected cell hard foam insulation is used exclusively in most AudioQuest audio and video cables. Similar to Foamed-PE, it is injected with nitrogen to create air pockets. The 'hard' foam is used because the stiffness of the material allows the cable conductors to maintain the same relationship to each other along the entire length of the cable, thus ensuring that the cable's characteristic impedance is consistent...

100% SHIELDING: Shielding always plays an important role in any cable design, but the shield on the coaxial interconnect plays a particularly important role because it functions not only as a shield but also as a return path. For this reason, AudioQuest pays special attention to the quality of the shield metal and manufacturing techniques as both affect sound and image.

NEW 72V DIELECTRIC POLARISATION SYSTEM WITH RADIOFREQUENCY LEVEL-X (DBS): All insulation is also a dielectric whose electrical properties affect signal integrity. When the insulation is unbiased, dielectric involvement (non-linear absorption and release of energy in the signal flow) causes different amounts of time delay (phase shift) for different frequencies and energy levels. AudioQuest's multi-patented DBS creates a strong and stable electrostatic field that saturates and polarises (organises) the insulation molecules. This minimises non-linear time delays, resulting in clearer sound emerging from a 'blacker' background. The Level-X RF trap (a technology developed for AudioQuest's Niagara series of power products) in the DBS battery pack "pulls" RF noise out of the cable, preventing RF from infiltrating the electronics. DBS Pack batteries last about 10 years. Use the test button to check the condition.

6-LAYER NOISE DISSIPATION SYSTEM WITH CARBON (NDS): 100% shield coverage is easy. Preventing RF interference captured by the equipment's ground reference modulation requires the QA noise dissipation system. Metal and carbon-based synthetics prevent most RFI from reaching the equipment ground plane.

TERMINATIONS: Welding of cold silver directly onto pure red copper terminations.
