100% PERFECT-SURFACE SOLID SILVER CONDUCTORS: Perfect-Surface technology applied to extremely pure silver offers unprecedented dynamic clarity and contrast. Solid conductors prevent strand interaction, a major source of cable distortion. Extremely pure Perfect-Surface silver minimises distortion caused by grain boundaries that exist within any metallic conductor, virtually eliminating hardness and dramatically increasing clarity compared to OFHC, OCC, 8N and other branches.

HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE SOLID INSULATION: Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. The insulation materials of the wire and circuit board all absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and later released as distortion. Solid high-density polyethylene insulation ensures a critical signal pair geometry, minimising insulation-induced phase distortion.

72V DIELECTRIC POLARISATION SYSTEM WITH LEVEL X RADIOFREQUENCY TRAP: All insulation is also a dielectric whose electrical properties affect signal integrity. When the isolation is unbiased, dielectric involvement (non-linear absorption and release of energy in the signal flow) causes different amounts of time delay (phase shift) for different frequencies and energy levels. AudioQuest's multi-patented DBS creates a strong and stable electrostatic field that saturates and polarises (organises) the insulation molecules. This minimises non-linear time delays, resulting in clearer sound emerging from a 'blacker' background. The Level-X RF trap (a technology developed for AudioQuest's Niagara series of power products) in the DBS battery pack "pulls" RF noise out of the cable, preventing RF from infiltrating the electronics. DBS Pack batteries last about 10 years. Use the test button to check the condition. X-Level Noise Dissipation "pulls" RF noise out of the cable, preventing the noise from capacitively coupling to the audio conductors, thus preventing misbehaviour of the audio circuit.

TERMINATION: Precision silver-plated conductors are carefully fixed with the best solder. Through the choice of flux and metallurgy, the AQ solder has been optimised to realise a low-distortion connection. The difference you feel between the solder is a result of the quality of the connection. AQ Solder does not have a high silver content because the more silver there is in the solder, the more difficult it is to make a good connection.
