Audioquest Blizzard cable replaces Audioquest NRG-10 cable

AudioQuest Blizzard resembles the Monsoon in many respects, but this cable is the first in the series to have DBS, AudioQuest's patented system that polarises the molecules in the insulation by means of a 72-volt electrical voltage and thus in a direction that is oriented, resulting in less distortion. The difference in sound quality is remarkable.

The AudioQuest Blizzard features only solid PSC+ conductors in combination with the famous 'noise dissipation system' (NDS) that absorbs high-frequency energy. The sonic result is more 'timbre', a quieter sound image and through the use of the NDS more detail in the background. It has more definition in the bass and more finesse in the treble than an AudioQuest Monsoon.

FEATURES

Ground Noise Dissipation Technology: AC ground wires provide protection from current wiring errors, but they also act as antennas. Therefore, they are subject to induced radio frequency (RF) noise. This RF noise excludes component power supplies and is typically coupled directly to the most sensitive audio/video circuits in the system. AudioQuest's patented ground noise dissipation greatly reduces this distortion, producing unprecedented levels of noise dissipation across the widest possible bandwidth (range) of radio frequencies. Our unique circuit topology utilises a common-mode phase cancellation matrix in accordance with proprietary dielectric materials that provide an additional linear differential filter. (US Patent No. 9,373,439)

High-purity semi-solid PSC + True-concentric conductors: Blizzard uses only our purest copper: 100% Perfect-Surface Copper + (PSC +). Both the superior metal and conductor geometry greatly reduce ear-fatiguing transient intermodal distortion (TIM).

Uncompressed High Current Transfer: While many AC power cables have low DC resistance to meet high current demands, the characteristic impedance of a cable is also crucial for optimal performance. Unlike most AC cables that compress an audio-induced transient, AudioQuest AC cables combine low DC resistance and zero (no) characteristic impedance to deliver uncompressed high-current transients on demand.

Directionality: All drawn metal wires or conductors have a non-symmetrical, and therefore directional, grain structure. AudioQuest controls the resulting RF impedance variation so that noise is discharged from where it will cause distortion. The correct direction is determined by listening to each batch of metal conductors used in each AudioQuest audio cable. Where applicable, arrows are clearly marked on the connectors to ensure superior audio quality. For most AQ cable models, the arrows indicate not only the direction that optimises the directionality of the metal as part of Noise-Dissipation, but also indicates the non-symmetrical attachment of shields and GND to optimise the performance of the entire system

New 72v dielectric bias with Level-X radio frequency trap (DBS): All insulation is also a dielectric whose electrical properties affect signal integrity. When the insulation is unbiased, dielectric involvement (non-linear absorption and release of energy in the signal flow) causes different amounts of time delay (phase shift) for different frequencies and energy levels. AudioQuest's multi-patented DBS creates a strong and stable electrostatic field that saturates and polarises (organises) the insulation molecules. This minimises non-linear time delays, resulting in clearer sound emerging from a 'blacker' background. The Level-X RF trap (a technology developed for AudioQuest's Niagara series of power products) in the DBS battery pack "pulls" RF noise out of the cable, preventing RF from infiltrating the electronics. DBS Pack batteries last about 10 years. Use the test button to check the condition.
