Ideal for streaming multimedia music, Blu-ray players, cable boxes, and more, NRG-Y2 cables utilise 7 directionally controlled long grain copper (LGC) conductors in a semi-solid concentric arrangement in which the individual copper strands are packed more tightly so as never to change position within the assembly. This construction significantly reduces the interaction distortion between the strands. The higher purity and more uniform grain structure of long-grain copper further reduce distortion. In addition, the NRG-Y2's silver-plated shielded conductors effectively control RF noise to ground.

FEATURES

Long-grain concentric semi-solid copper conductors (LGC): In a conventional multi-wire cable, the distortion caused by the interaction of the electrical and magnetic wire is aggravated as each wire changes position within the bundle. In a semi-solid concentric AQ cable, the wires within the bundle maintain their fixed relationships, significantly reducing distortion.

Silver-Plated Ground Drain Wires: Silver-Plated, directionally controlled shielded conductors effectively drain RF noise from the line and neutral shields to ground via the third 'ground' pin (that's why this 2-pin cable also has an unexpected third pin). The net result is powerful, dynamic and immersive.

Zero Characteristic Impedance: While many AC power cables have low DC resistance to meet high current demands, the characteristic impedance of a cable is also crucial for optimal performance. Unlike most AC cables that constrict or compress an audio-induced transient, AudioQuest AC cables combine low DC resistance and zero (non) characteristic impedance to provide uncompressed transients on demand.
