Supra LoRad power cable 3 x 2.5 mm2 with Supra SWF10 female connector (IEC-320) and Supra SW-EU male connector. Current rating of 10 amps continuous. Suitable for our LoRad mains power distribution blocks with a rated current of 10 amps.

LoRad means Low Radiation and the design of these flexible mains cables minimises alternating electric and magnetic fields. Allow your hi-fi equipment the most welcome benefit of all, the ability to fall silent when it is supposed to. Only then will the tiniest details and notes become clearly audible, and the background of time-delayed reflections, real or artificial, representing the acoustic environment in the recording will show the entire soundstage to the hi-fi-conscious enthusiast. Or, when translated into the world of home cinema, only the film will be the protagonist, not the artefacts, nor the noise from the huge variety of interference from electrical devices in most modern homes.

LoRad protects against both alternating fields radiating from the cable and the pick-up of noise fields in the surrounding air, e.g. LoRad MkII is a development of the LoRad concept, now with shielding, flexibility, bending/fatigue resistance and strength.

In addition to the physical shield incorporated into the cable design, the cables are spun in a short pitch, counteracting the alternating magnetic field that, according to the physical law of inductance, always surrounds a cable carrying a current. The collection of unwanted incoming fields will also be lowered by this measure.

The advantages are less noise detected by the cable, less noise caused by the cable inside and less noise infecting adjacent cables such as low-level interconnects. You will notice a cleaner sound, pronounced transients, richer fine detail, a quiet background and an improved 3D soundstage. If your equipment is installed using Supra cables, it is connected in phase with the power cables, the noise floor is normally suppressed by several dB, allowing much more content to be revealed.

LoRad MkII now incorporates Supra's unique Carbon / Nylon shield concept. The Carbon / Nylon semiconductor shield exhibits improved properties, flexural strength, environmental immunity, increased tensile strength and reduced microphonic effect. The Carbon / Nylon shield is connected to a drain wire along its total length, efficiently bringing noise locked in the shield to earth. We tested and evaluated all known types of shields to make such a good cable. Supra's semi-conductive carbon/nylon shield was the only one to pass the stringent safety requirements and, moreover, its shielding properties were the best ever. LoRad MkII is tested and certified by Intertek Sweden, conforming to the European safety standard HD21.5 S3.
