SUPRA LORAD CABLE 3x2.5mm2 MkII

Flexible mains cable, shielded, 110-240VAC, 3x2.5mm2

LoRad stands for LOw RADiation and minimises both electric and magnetic fields.
LoRad protects against radiated fields from the cable and picked-up noise fields such as those from wireless signals, mobile phones, radio transmitters, etc..
LoRad MkII is the result of the development of the Lorad concept, further improved in the properties of shielding, flexibility, bending resistance and robustness.
bending resistance and robustness.

The radiation is further lowered by the screen, which minimises the alternating electric fields emitted by the cable. It also minimises RF (Radio Frequency) pick-up.
Magnetic fields are then cancelled out by the tight spiral winding of the conductors.
The resulting benefits are cleaner sound, pronounced transients and an improved 3D soundstage. We have heard some users describe a more detailed sound and we are not surprised by this. If SUPRA cables are used on your equipment, the noise floor is generally reduced by several dB, allowing more musical content to come out. Low radiation cables are also important from a health point of view. Science has proven that alternating magnetic fields have negative effects on cell growth.

The major difference between the new MKII version of the LoRad and the previous version is that the special SUPRA Nylon Screen concept is now used. The semi-conductive Nylon Screen offers greater shielding properties, greater mechanical strength, immunity to the environment, greater resistance to mechanical stress and less microphonics. The Nylon Screen is connected with a drain-wire.
We tested and evaluated all known types of screens before finding the best possible cable. The SUPRA ‘semi-conductive Nylon Screen’ was the only one to pass the safety regulations and, even more so, its shielding properties were the best in the tests. LoRad MkII is tested and certified by Intertek Sweden, meeting the European safety standard HD21.5 S3.

APPLICATIONS

  • Hi-Fi and studios
  • Medical equipment
  • Laboratories
  • EHS (electrical hypersensitivity)
  • Noise critical installations

The cable must necessarily be connected to a wall outlet with a ground terminal to get the full LoRad effect.
