High-performance HDMI 2.1 cable with 5% silver-plated solid copper conductors. 8K/10K - 48 Gbps- eARC
Available lengths selectable from drop-down menu.
The Carbon HDMI cable adds 5% silver plating to the conductors of its solid-core predecessors. Like all AudioQuest HDMI cables, the Carbon uses high-density solid polyethylene insulation and precise geometry. Special attention has been paid to maximising HDMI performance, and indeed, AudioQuest HDMI cables push sonic performance to new levels.
FEATURES
5% SILVER-PLATED CONDUCTORS
Solid conductors eliminate interaction distortion between the strands and reduce jitter. Silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high frequency applications, such as audio and HDMI video. These signals, being high-frequency, travel almost exclusively on the conductor surface. Since the surface is pure silver, the performance is very similar to that of a solid silver cable, but much closer to copper cable. This is an incredibly economical way to produce HDMI cables of the highest quality.
3-LAYER CARBON-BASED NOISE DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS)
It is easy to achieve 100% screen coverage. Preventing captured radio interference (RFI) from the modulation of the equipment ground reference requires QA's Noise Dissipation System (NDS). Conventional shielding systems typically absorb and then discharge noise/ RF energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical 'reference' ground plane, which in turn causes signal distortion. Alternating layers of metal NDS and carbon-filled synthetics 'shield the screen', absorbing and reflecting most of this noise / RF energy before it reaches the grounded layer.
RIGID FOAM INSULATION
Rigid foam insulation (HCF) ensures a critical signal pair geometry. Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Cable and circuit board insulation materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Rigid cell foam insulation is similar to the PE foam used in our cheaper Bridges & Falls cables, and is injected with nitrogen to create air pockets. Since nitrogen (like air) does not absorb energy and therefore does not release energy from or into the conductor, distortion is reduced. In addition, the stiffness of the material allows the cable conductors to maintain a stable relationship along the entire length of the cable, producing a stable impedance character and further reducing distortion.
