Pearl HDMI features solid long grain copper (LGC) conductors. Special attention has been paid to maximising HDMI performance and, indeed, AudioQuest's HDMI cables push sonic performance to new levels.

FEATURES

LONG-GRAIN SOLID COPPER CONDUCTORS (LGC): Long-grain solid copper (LGC) enables a smoother and clearer sound than cables using normal OFHC (high conductivity oxygen-free) copper. Solid conductors prevent strand interaction, a major source of distortion. Surface quality is crucial because a conductor can be considered as a guide for both electric fields inside a conductor and magnetic fields outside the conductor. LGC has fewer oxides inside the conductor material, fewer impurities, fewer grain boundaries and much better performance.

ETHERNET E AUDIO RETURN CHANNEL ENABLED

POLYETHYLENE FOAM INSULATION: Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Cable and circuit board insulation materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Since air almost absorbs energy and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile, Foamed-PE, with its high air content, causes much less out-of-focus effect common to other materials.

HIGH SPEED DATA CAPACITY: HDMI standards and capabilities have improved significantly since DVI first evolved into HDMI. All generations are backwards compatible. However, not all previous HDMI cables can transmit the 48 Gbps of data required to optimise today's HDMI 2.0 equipment. Audioquest HDMI cables are ideal for very high-speed data transmission. Their bandwidth allows transmission in 8K and 10K.

HDMI DIRECTIONALITY: All audio cables are directional. The correct direction is determined by listening to each batch of metal conductors used in each AudioQuest audio cable. All signal conductors are checked for digital audio direction in Audioquest HDMI cables, and care is also taken to run the conductors used in the audio return channel in the opposite direction to ensure the best performance for that application. Arrows are clearly marked on the connectors to ensure superior audio quality.
