The 'Revelation' speaker cable lives up to its name and offers unprecedented sonic performance at a price that is easily affordable by all Hi-Fi and home cinema enthusiasts. This cable is a miniaturised version of our flagship 'Genesis' cable and features Teflon dielectrics to maintain its low impedance.

Aircore technology

QED cables above the cross-sectional area of 2.5 mm2 utilise air core technology to overcome the skin effect by grouping several small separately insulated cores together to create a larger CSA. If these conductors are arranged around a central polyethylene core, the self-inductance exhibited by the cable can be reduced to approximately half of that predicted by the calculation

Ten 19 / 0.1 mm silver-plated 99.999% oxygen-free copper central conductors

Like most interconnects here, Reference Audio 40 is a silver-plated copper cable, arranged in a special complementary way - the two conductors have different diameters, and provide an alternative path for high-frequency audio signals to avoid time smearing. The expanded polyethylene dielectric reduces the amount of signal lost to the cable's capacitance. The Signature Revelation loudspeaker cable uses 10 silver-plated oxygen-free copper core conductors, which are believed to provide very low resistance and high levels of detail. These cores are separately insulated and arranged around a hollow polyethylene core; QED calls this technology Aircore and claimed to reduce inductance.

Sound quality

Many listeners express a strong preference for this cable set, applauding it for its clean, open and even sound that does not try to do anything too clever. Instead, it is very complete in almost all aspects of music and makes things quite simple.

Importance of the cable

Revelation is a completely new design from QED Labs. It utilises the technologies of both Genesis and X-Tube cables and combines them in a new miniature format to bring high-end cable philosophies to the mid-range hifi market. This cable offers exceptional performance for its price thanks to the use of carefully calculated X-Tube ™ and Genesis Silver Spiral geometries that have the combined effect of reducing the cable's overall impedance below that which would be expected from a traditional loudspeaker cable of the same cross-sectional area.
