The basic element influencing the sound quality of the WBT-0152 Cu is the central contact unit, which was developed in exactly the same way as for the WBT-0110 Cu plug model: minimum mass of highly pure copper signal conductors. Copper was chosen as one of the best electrical conductors providing not only ultra-fast signal transmission, but also excellent fine resolution. This metal is of course plated with nickel-free gold, so that the surface does not oxidise, which would affect contact quality.

The WBT-0152 Cu has a transmission bandwidth of up to 200 MHz far exceeding the transmission bandwidth of conventional RCA sockets.

By means of the collector clamping device that functions like a drill chuck, the external contact of the plug once inserted is firmly fixed to the RCA socket. Maximum contact pressure not only provides a secure connection, but also minimises transition resistance

Thanks to the two-piece clamping sleeve, the cone of the sleeve does not rotate while the clamping sleeve is being tightened, so the contact elements are not exposed to torsion pressure. In addition, dimensional inaccuracies of the external socket contacts are compensated for in this way.

The central pin is grooved and slightly bent upwards, and thus guarantees with its stable spring a long-lasting secure electrical connection with the lowest possible transition resistance.

The body element is made of brass (gold-plated without nickel) to accept stiff and particularly thick cables. The metal connector body is of course electrically decoupled from the central contact unit and is made of as little metal as possible so that the WBT-0152 Cu is also free of eddy current to a large extent.

Apart from digital outputs, it is very important for phono outputs (record players, microphones) to have good shielding against electromagnetic interference fields. Unwanted interference can be very high depending on the nature of the devices and, primarily, what they are surrounded by (mobile phones, computers, etc.). WBT-0110 nextgen as well was designed as the perfect RCA connector for digital connections, the new WBT-0152 Cu optimises analogue connections. WBT-0152 Cu has the most conductive negative contact element connected to the brass locking sleeve to provide the necessary electromagnetic shielding.

To solder the cable, WBT recommends using WBT-0800 silver solder, which is gentle on the surface.
