The XLR-EMC Series is a version of the XX Series specifically designed to give greater RF protection in critical applications such as live performance and recording, where there are particular problems with radio transmission or cellular phones. The design provides continuous RF shielding from the cable to the connector body via a circular capacitor placed around the cable shield. The circular capacitors act as a filter with a cutoff frequency of about 10 MHz.
