Nano Crystal² Formula (NCF) Incorporated into selected Furutech products, NCF features a special crystalline material that has two 'active' properties. The Furutech Floating Field Damper system. The current flowing through a cable and its connector creates magnetic (and electrostatic) fields around them, which build up and collapse 60 times per second in 120 V AC systems. This magnetic field induces the flow of current - electrical potential - in small parts such as the screws that hold the connector shell together, which must be made of metal for tight clamping. The current flow in these small parts actually creates 'floating' magnetic fields around them and interferes with the larger surrounding magnetic field of the cable/connector, causing noise and distortion.
Furutech's floating field damper solves the biggest problem you never realised you had by star-grounding the metal parts where fluctuating magnetic fields are induced by current flow. All the various metal parts of the connector are bonded together and deflect any generated electrical potential to earth.
