X-Tube Plus Technology
QED's innovative and proven X-Tube technology places the conductive material of a cable around a hollow central insulating rod, thus eliminating the ‘skin effect’ that would otherwise force high-frequency analogue music signals outside the conductor. By combining X-Tube technology with the equally effective Aircore technology, QED also reduces the ‘proximity effect’ that can disturb the distribution of current in a loudspeaker cable. The result is X-Tube Plus: an innovative cable geometry that ensures the Golden Anniversary XT delivers smooth and consistent performance across the entire audible frequency range.

Ohno Continuous Cast Ultra-Pure Copper Conductors
Golden Anniversary XT utilises a unique hybrid blend of 99.999% oxygen-free copper (‘OFC’) and Ohno Continuous Cast Ultra-Pure copper (‘UP-OCC’) to offer a better signal path and exceptional signal retention than ultra-pure copper conductors, but at a fraction of the price. Thanks to world-class research and engineering, QED Golden Anniversary XT is the most affordable and accessible speaker cable that takes advantage of the continuous-cast process, with this hybrid theoretically enhancing the transient path and high-frequency detail not available using OFC alone.

Ultra-uniform, low-loss dielectric insulation
For a loudspeaker cable to reach its full potential, it is important that the dielectric material that insulates and protects the central conductors of the cable does so efficiently. Golden Anniversary XT uses a specially developed and formulated low-density polyethylene (‘LDPE’), which works in unison with the cable's X-Tube Plus configuration to deliver a speaker cable with high efficiency and a barely measurable dissipation factor.
