The key element influencing the sound quality of the WBT-0102 Cu is the central contact unit, developed exactly as for the WBT-0110 Cu plug model: minimum mass of fine silver signal conductors. Copper was chosen as one of the best electrical conductors, an absolute guarantee not only of ultra-fast signal transmission, but also of excellent fine resolution. The signal conductors are gold-plated (nickel-free) and thus best protected against oxidation, which could compromise contact quality.

The WBT-0102 Cu is distinguished by its transmission bandwidth of up to 200 MHz, far exceeding the transmission bandwidth of conventional RCA connectors.

Thanks to the spindle pick-up, which functions like a drill chuck, the connector's outer contact, once inserted, locks firmly onto the RCA socket. The maximum contact pressure not only ensures a secure connection, but also minimises transition resistance.

Thanks to the two-piece clamping sleeve, the cone of the sleeve does not rotate while the sleeve is tightened and thus the contact elements are not exposed to torsion pressure. In addition, this compensates for dimensional inaccuracies in the outer contacts of the female sockets.

The central pin is grooved and slightly bent upwards, thus ensuring a secure and durable electrical connection with the lowest possible transition resistance.

The body element is made of brass (gold-plated) to accept stiff and particularly thick cables. The metal connector body is naturally electrically decoupled from the central contact block and is made from as little metal as possible, so that the WBT-0102 Cu is also largely free of eddy currents.

In addition to the digital outputs, it is very important that the phono outputs (turntables, microphones) have good shielding against interfering electromagnetic fields. Unwanted interference can be very high depending on the nature of the devices and, primarily, their surroundings (mobile phones, computers, etc.). WBT-0110 nextgen™ as well was designed as a perfect RCA plug for digital connections, the new WBT-0102 Cu optimises analogue connections. The WBT-0102 Cu features a more conductive brass clamping sleeve with the contact element less connected to provide the necessary electromagnetic shielding.

To solder your WBT, we recommend using WBT-0800 silver tin.
