The 2M Black Series is Ortofon's MM flagship

The 2M Black is embellished with a Shibata diamond stylus, the same diamond as the acclaimed MC Jubilee. The thin, highly polished profile allows an extremely large contact area with respect to the groove walls and guarantees particularly detailed reproduction across the entire spectrum, including high-frequency groove information.

The cartridge body used for the 2M Black is made from a newly developed Lexan DMX Piano Black, a revolutionary material that ensures high rigidity while eliminating unwanted resonances.

We optimised the design for easy cartridge mounting and the weight and dimensions to fit the most common turntables on the market today. The 2M series offers excellent compatibility when used in an assortment of playback systems and with a wide variety of phono preamplifiers.

Replacement Stylus Unit - 2M Black (interchangeable with 2M Bronze)

In the event that the compliance value is stated at 100 Hz (usually referring to Japanese cartridges), it simply has to be doubled to find its correspondence at 10 Hz. On the other hand, if the compliance is declared in static regime (usually on cartridges made in the USA), it must be halved to find its value at 10 Hz.
