"As with all good design, getting rid of the AC devil requires attention to every detail. Thank you, Garth! " William E. Low, Founder and CEO, AudioQuest
The Niagara 1200 offers the benefits of highly optimised power management to many more music lovers and replaces the Niagara 1000.
The most obvious difference between the Niagara 1000 and the 1200, apart from the 1200's beautiful textured glossy finish, is the more universally useful shape and surprisingly substantial weight. The 1200 can now sit on a shelf like a component, with all cables in and out the back. It can be used face down with the sockets in the air, fitting much better in the space between the furniture and the wall. The 1200 is designed to fit on one side. 100% performance in a more functional housing.
Designed by Garth Powell, the Niagara 1200 embodies the same design philosophy and incorporates the same patented technology found in its larger siblings, the Niagara 5000 and Niagara 7000, but packs it into a smaller, sleeker casing at a fraction of the price.
Just like Niagara 5000 and 7000, Niagara 1200 utilises ultra-low-resistance solid-core cabling optimised for low-noise directionality, condensation technologies that greatly improve linearity and minimise distortion, and low-impedance AC input and output contacts with heavy silver plated on high-purity beryllium copper for improved noise dissipation. Likewise, Niagara 1200 offers our non-sacrificial surge protection, patented ground noise dissipation technology and surge shutdown. The Niagara 1200's non-sacrificial protection circuits ensure that your system is fully protected from AC surges and spikes and that the Niagara 1200 protects itself: no damage, no downtime. Set it and forget it.
The Niagara 1200 employs AudioQuest's patented ground and linear noise dissipation technology and fits seven high-performance sockets in its elegant cabinet-like chassis. Maximum input capacity is 15 amps RMS.
- 7 AC sockets: 2 high current; 5 linear filtered
- Patented ground noise dissipation system: all outlets: 2 directionally controlled ground noise dissipation banks
- Directionally controlled ultra-low resistance solid-core cabling
- AudioQuest ultralinear AC RF filter capacitors
- Linear noise dissipation technology: over 18 octaves of differential AC filtering with optimised linear response for variable line and load impedance
- Non-sacrificial overcurrent protection: withstands multiple AC peaks and spikes up to
- 6000 V / 3000 A without damage
- Overvoltage shutdown with automatic reset
- Low impedance NRG series silver / beryllium AC power inputs and outputs
