No longer dependent on physical media, our media is often data that is moved by multiple devices in multiple locations. For audio applications and protocols, the Ethernet connection offers the virtues of high speed and low delay time (latency), significant distance capability (328 feet without an active repeater) and extremely low jitter with perfect bit transmission. 100% PERFECT-SURFACE SILVER CONDUCTORS: Perfect-Surface technology applied to extremely pure silver offers unprecedented dynamic clarity and contrast. Perfect-Surface Silver (PSS) is AudioQuest's highest quality metal. Solid conductors prevent strand interaction, a major source of cable distortion. Extremely pure Perfect-Surface Silver minimises distortion caused by grain boundaries that exist within any metal conductor, almost eliminating hardness and greatly increasing clarity compared to OFHC, OCC, 8N and other branches.
3-LAYER NOISE DISSIPATION SYSTEM WITH CARBON (NDS): 100% shield coverage is easy to achieve. Preventing captured radio interference (RFI) from the modulation of the equipment's ground reference requires QA's Noise Dissipation System (NDS). Conventional shielding systems typically absorb and then discharge noise/ RF energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical 'reference' ground plane, which in turn causes signal distortion. Alternating layers of metal NDS and carbon-filled synthetics 'shield the screen', absorbing and reflecting most of this noise / RF energy before it reaches the grounded layer.

DIRECTIONALITY: All audio cables are directional. The correct direction is determined by listening to each batch of metal conductors used in each AudioQuest audio cable. Arrows are clearly marked on the connectors to ensure superior audio quality. For best results, the arrow points in the direction of the music flow. For example, NAS to router, router to network player.

ULTRA-WIDEBAND LOW-LOSS AND PRECISION CONNECTORS WITH 100 PER CENT SCREEN COVERAGE
DIELECTRIC POLARISATION SYSTEM WITH RADIOFREQUENCY TRAP: All insulation between two or more conductors is also a dielectric whose properties will affect signal integrity. When the dielectric is unbiased, the dielectric involvement (non-linear energy absorption and release) causes different amounts of time delay (phase shift) for different frequencies and energy levels, which is a real problem for time-sensitive multi-optical audio. The inclusion of an RF trap (developed for AudioQuest's Niagara series of PowerQuest products) ensures that RF noise is not induced into signal conductors by DBS field elements.
