Pair of RCA terminated signal cables in Box | Copper conductors with PSC+ technology | Silver-plated connectors

Available lengths selectable from drop-down menu.

The MacKenzie is the product of the application of advanced design techniques and superior quality materials.

DESIGN CONCEPTS: The MacKenzie is a 3 times balanced cable. This means that there are three identical, insulated conductors plus an additional (separate) conductor below the protective (insulation) foil that extends over 100% of the surface area.

When used with XLR connectors and balanced electronics, the two positive signals, and the negative, use the same low-distortion path. The shield is connected to the chassis ground of the XLR connector, providing extremely effective isolation without contaminating the quality of the negative conductor.

When used with RCA connectors, two conductors are used together to counteract the high potential of the negative conductor, providing in each case, a substantial improvement in performance.

The shield is connected at one end only, providing total protection without compromising the conductive path of the negative conductor.

FEATURES

Perfectly surfaced solid copper conductors + (PSC +): Solid conductors prevent electrical and magnetic wire-to-wire interaction, the main sources of distortion. The quality of the surface is crucial because a conductor can be considered as a rail guide for both the fields inside a conductor and the magnetic fields extending outside the conductor. The surprisingly smooth and pure surface of all Perfect-Surface metals from AudioQuests almost eliminates hardness and significantly increases clarity compared to lesser materials. Perfect-Surface copper of the highest purity + further minimises distortion caused by grain boundaries, which exist within any metal conductor, nearly eliminating hardness and greatly increasing clarity over OFHC, OCC, 8N and other branches.

Nitrogen Injected Hard Cell Foam Insulation: Nitrogen injected hard cell foam insulation is used exclusively in most AudioQuest audio and video cables. Similar to Foamed-PE, it is injected with nitrogen to create air pockets. Hard' foam is used because the stiffness of the material allows the cable conductors to maintain the same relationship to each other along the entire length of the cable, thus ensuring that the cable's characteristic impedance is consistent.

Triple-balanced geometry (separate earth reference conductor): Our triple-balanced geometry uses a separate earth reference conductor, so the cable shield is never used as a lower conductor. Whether prepared with RCA or XLR connectors, the cable's three conductors ensure that the positive and negative signals have equally superior, low-distortion conducting paths.

Carbon-based 3-layer noise-dissipation system (NDS): 100% shield coverage is easy to achieve. Preventing radio frequency interference (RFI) captured by modulating the equipment ground reference requires QA's noise-dissipation system (NDS). Conventional shielding systems typically absorb and then discharge the noise/ RF energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical 'reference' ground plane, which in turn causes signal distortion. Alternating layers of metal and synthetic carbon-filled NDS 'shield', absorbing and reflecting most of this RF noise/energy before it reaches the layer attached to the ground.
