Power Cable for Acoustic Loudspeakers by the metre. Spread Spectrum Technology. 8 Solid Core Copper PSC+ conductors.

The price refers to 1 metre of unterminated cable. The cable is supplied in one piece in the quantity purchased.

FEATURES

CONDUCTORS: The 8 conductors of which the Rocket 88 is composed are SOLID CORE.
The interaction between conductors within a conventional cable is the biggest cause of distortion, often resulting in a CRUD, DIRTY and CONFUSED sound. The use of solid conductors gives the Rocket 88 cable an extremely clear sound. Whether the cable is SOLID or FLEXIBLE, the skin effect is a primary mechanism for generating distortion in audio cables.
AudioQuest, with the Rocket 88 cable, keeps this problem at bay by using conductors structured in such a way that they remain below the threshold of audible distortion generation to the human ear.

METALS: 100% Copper PSC+. Rocket 88 uses a carefully refined and optimised combination of Perfect Surface Copper with the extremely high purity of Perfect Surface Copper+. The extraordinarily smooth and pure combination of PSC+ and PSC significantly eliminates stringency and significantly increases clarity. The Rocket 88's conductor mix is dominated by PSC+.

GEOMETRY: The relationships between conductors influence the basic parameters of a cable (inductance and capacitance). Nevertheless, while keeping these variables correctly balanced, the conductor relationships can be varied in ways that greatly influence the sound.
The spiral construction of the Rocket 88 allows for much better dynamic contrast, coupled with a more pronounced intelligibility than could have been achieved by letting the conductors travel in parallel.
The Rockets are cables with a low-inductance geometry, but they can also be assembled in a low-capacity configuration, simply not by following the colours but by joining the conductors of the same twist. This mode is provided in Audioquest cables in particular to be compatible with Naim amplifiers or in general with electronics that perform better with low-capacity cables.

OTHER FEATURES

SST (spread spectrum technology): Each individual conductor shape or size has its own distortion profile.
Although solid conductors have the best characteristics, each size has its own signature.
The SST method was introduced to find the right combination of conductors (combination of shapes and sizes) to put together to obtain only advantages
and no disadvantages from the use of solid conductors. In other words, the use of SST technology made it possible to find the maximum size
maximum size with which it was possible to produce the Rocket 44 cable without triggering the dreaded skin effect at audible levels.

Copper conductors with a more than perfect surface (PSC+): Solid conductors prevent both electrical and magnetic interaction of the wire-to-wire interaction, the main sources of distortion. The quality of the surface is crucial because a conductor can be regarded as a guide for both the fields inside a conductor and the magnetic fields extending outside the conductor. The incredibly smooth and pure surface of all Perfect-Surface metals from AudioQuests almost eliminates roughness and significantly increases clarity compared to smaller materials. The extremely pure Perfect-Surface copper + further minimises distortion caused by grain boundaries, which exist within any metal conductor, almost eliminating roughness and greatly increasing clarity compared to OFHC, OCC, 8N and other coppers.

Double Star-Quad geometry: The relationship between conductors defines the basic electrical values of a cable (capacitance and inductance). However, even when these variables are kept in reasonably neutral equilibrium, the particular geometric relationship between the conductors has a significant influence on the sound. The Star-Quad geometry is not only far superior to parallel conductors, but also to the conductors of two twisted pairs themselves.

Carbon-based noise and crosstalk dissipation system: The negative conductors of this cable are covered with partially conductive carbon-filled polyethylene. This extraordinary material reduces the radio-frequency waste fed into the amplifier. The sonic benefit is exactly the same reduction in 'hash' and improved dimensionality that comes whenever RF interference is reduced in an audio circuit. In addition, a carbon layer dampens the interaction between positive and negative conductors and an external carbon-based noise-dissipation system reduces external interference.

Polyethylene foam insulation (for all positive conductors): Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Cable and circuit board insulation materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. The tower, however, uses air-filled polyethylene foam insulation on both conductors. Since air almost absorbs energy and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile, Foamed-PE, with its high air content, causes much less out-of-focus effect common with other materials.
