Power Cable for Hi-End Audio, Video and Professional Equipment. New version of Supra's "Best-Buy" power cable, LoRad mkII
It is sold by the metre. It is supplied in a single piece of the quantity purchased in multiples of 1 metre, 50cm or in reels of 100m.
DESCRIPTION
Mains power cable, extremely flexible, new shielding concept patented worldwide by Tommy Jenving, capable of low electrical and magnetic radiation, protects the equipment to which it is connected from mains-radiated noise and RF interference.
LoRad 3x1.5 mkII CE marked approved to HD 21.5 S3 standards
It improves the performance of Hi-Fi, Audio and Video electronics.
LoRad stands for LOw RADiation and the design of these cables minimises both electric and magnetic fields. LoRad protects against both fields radiating from the cable as well as surrounding disturbing fields such as wireless and mobile phones, radio transmissions, etc. LoRad MkII is a development of the Lorad concept, now with improved shielding properties, flexibility, bend resistance and strength.
The short twisting of the cores cancels out the alternating magnetic fields.
This results in more accurate sound performance.
Radiation is lowered by means of two techniques. First, the shield minimises the alternating electric fields from the cable and also minimises RF (Radio Frequency) noise. Then the magnetic fields are cancelled by rotating the conductors.
The benefits are a cleaner sound, pronounced transients and a better 3D soundstage. We also hear customers describe more detailed sound and are not surprised. If the equipment is installed using Supra cables, the noise floor is generally suppressed by several dB. Low cable radiation is also increasingly important from a health point of view. Science has shown that alternating magnetic fields affect cell growth.
The major difference between LoRad MkII and the old LoRad cable is that the cable is now based on SUPRA's unique nylon shield concept. The nylon screen provides better shielding properties, bending resistance, environmental immunity, higher tensile strength, etc. The Nylon shield is connected with a drain wire.
LoRad MkII is tested and certified by Intertek Sweden, meeting European safety regulation HD21.5 S3.
The cable must be connected to a socket with a ground terminal for the full LoRad effect.
REVIEWS
"...it gives a distinct improvement compared to regular flex, without any discernible change in tonality unless you count a small degree of extra bass extension. An excellent...mains upgrade."
What HiFi? (U.K.) was even more fulgent in its praise:
"The LoRad is one of the most cost-effective upgrades you can make. If you're using freebie mains cables with your kit, the improvements will be revelatory. Music gains extra drive and pace, plus more insight into performances - vocals are more natural and solid, and movies look more stable and detailed."
