SOLID PERFECT-SURFACE COPPER (PSC) CONDUCTORS: Since the beginning, AudioQuest has pioneered the use of superior metals, yet even we were surprised by the huge leap in performance attained through the astonishingly smooth and pure surface of Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC). Proprietary metal-processing technology protects the wire's surface at every stage of drawing and fabrication. When high-purity low-oxide copper is kept as soft, pure, and smooth as possible, it becomes a wonderfully low-distortion conductor. In a conventional cable, electrical and magnetic interaction between strands is one of the greatest sources of distortion, often causing a somewhat harsh, dirty sound. Solid conductors are fundamental toward achieving a very clean, natural sound.

INJECTED-CELL HARD FOAM INSULATION: Nitrogen-injected cell hard foam insulation is used exclusively in most AudioQuest audio and video cables. Similar to Foamed-PE, it is injected with nitrogen to create air pockets. Hard' foam is used because the stiffness of the material allows the cable conductors to maintain the same relationship to each other along the entire length of the cable, thus ensuring that the cable's characteristic impedance is consistent.

METAL-STRATE NOISE DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS): 100% shield coverage is easy. Preventing RF interference captured by the modulation of the equipment ground reference requires the QA noise dissipation system. The noise dissipation system prevents a significant amount of RFI from reaching the equipment ground plane.

TRIPLE-BALANCED GEOMETRY: the three conductors in the Red River 'Triple-Balanced' cables ensure that, when prepared with RCA or XLR connectors, the positive and negative signals have low-distortion conduction paths. The 100% coverage shield is never used as a lower conductor.

COLD-GOLD WELDED CONNECTORS: this plug design allows for a solder-free connection, which is a common source of distortion. Since the ground shells are moulded rather than machined, the metal can be chosen for low distortion rather than machinability.
