FEATURES

MORE THAN PERFECT SURFACE SOLID COPPER CONDUCTORS (PSC+): Perfect-Surface Copper + has a surprisingly smooth and pure surface. Proprietary metalworking technology protects the wire surface at every stage of design and manufacture. When low-oxide copper of high purity is kept as soft, pure and smooth as possible, it becomes a wonderfully low-distortion PSC+ conductor. PSC+ is produced by applying the same exceptional technology to ultra-pure copper. The resulting sound quality is even more focused and simply less in the way. For over 30 years, AudioQuest has pioneered the use of superior metals; yet we were also surprised by the great leap in performance made possible by Perfect-Surface technology. PSC+ simply outperforms all copper metals previously available at any price. All of Sydney's conductors are solid. The electrical and magnetic interaction between strands in a conventional cable is the biggest source of distortion, often resulting in a rather dirty and harsh sound. Solid conductors are fundamental to achieving Sydney's very clean sound.

POLYETHYLENE AIR TUBE INSULATION: Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. The insulation materials of the wire and circuit board all absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. All of Sydney's conductors use PE air tube insulation because air absorbs almost no energy and polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile. PE air tube insulation causes much less out-of-focus effect than other materials.

3-LAYER CARBON NOISE DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS): 100% shield coverage is easy. Preventing RF interference captured by the equipment's ground reference modulation requires the QA noise dissipation system. Metal and carbon-based synthetics prevent most RFI from reaching the equipment ground plane.

DOUBLE-BALANCED ASYMMETRIC GEOMETRY: designed for single-ended applications, double-balanced asymmetrical geometry offers a relatively lower impedance on the ground for a richer, more dynamic experience. While many single-ended cable designs use a single path for ground and shield, double-balanced designs separate the two for cleaner, quieter performance.

COLD-SOLDERED CONNECTORS WITH SILVER PLUGS DIRECTLY OVER PURE COPPER: This plug design allows a solder-free connection, which is a common source of distortion. Since the ground shells are moulded rather than machined, the metal can be chosen for low distortion rather than machinability. Purple-Copper offers a cleaner and clearer sound than the nickel-plated or OFHC metals commonly found in connectors from competing manufacturers. Direct-Silver plating offers another important step towards greater clarity and no signal damage.
