The REFERENCE RMCQ01 QUAD cable with 4 small conductors instead of 2 large ones further reduces the loop area of the cable and its rejection of electromagnetic interference (EMI) showing an improvement of 20dB. This makes the Star-Quad cable very popular for microphones and balanced lines used in critical applications such as TV production, where huge amounts of power cables for lighting and camera equipment surround performers. In these cases using the REFERENCE RMCQ01 QUAD cable will greatly reduce intermodulation distortion. The result will be better high-frequency performance due to the cable's low inductance. You will have better clarity without the need for equalisation to boost the high range.
