SOMMER CABLE EPILOGUE: after the great success of our SC-ALBEDO and SC-STRATOS AF cables and the numerous requests from purists, we have challenged the limits of the 'technician and the audiophile' and created a product that, when tested in renowned hi-fi studios, was more convincing in sound than cables for a multiple of its price. Based on the legendary SC-STRATOS, we have incorporated four of its wires into a sheath so that they can be connected in crossover mode to reduce capacitance. Each wire is 100% shielded by a thick Cu braid and a semiconductor. For better conductivity, all four wires are polished with a carbon conductor. The EPILOGUE guarantees - and this without prolonged break-in - success: absolutely neutral reproduction. It is also very musical. The EPILOGUE has been on the market since the end of 2002 and was able to convince immediately. We recommend it for connecting preamplifiers and power amplifiers, for connecting CD and DVD players, turntables and, of course, for professional studio technology. Typically, and due to its low cable-capacitance of approx. 35 pF, it produces practically no losses with max. lengths of 10 metres (32.8 inches). Due to the very sophisticated processing and rather complicated wiring, the EPILOGUE is currently only offered as a prefabricated set. This balanced version is available with XLR 'SATIN' connectors with turned contacts, real gold-plated in both male and female versions. These are custom-made by NEUTRIK for SOMMER CABLE.
