WBT-0102 Ag

The key element that has a fundamental influence on the sound quality of the WBT-0102 Ag is the unique signal conductor made of pure copper, which was developed in exactly the same way as the WBT-0102 Cu connector model: minimal grounding of the signal conductors in fine silver. Copper was chosen as one of the best electrical conductors, an absolute guarantee not only for ultra-fast signal transmission, but also for excellent resolution. The signal conductors are gold-plated (nickel-free) for better protection against oxidation that could alter contact quality.

The WBT-0102 Ag features a transmission bandwidth of up to 200 MHz, far exceeding the transmission bandwidth of conventional RCA connectors.

The centre pin is engaged and slightly bent, and thus guarantees with its firm spring a secure, long-lasting electrical connection with the lowest possible transition resistance.

The body element is made of brass (platinum-plated) to accept stiff and particularly thick cables. The metal connector body is of course electrically decoupled from the central contact and is made from as little metal as possible so that it is largely free of eddy currents.

In addition to digital outputs, it is very important that phono outputs (turntables, microphones) have good shielding against interfering electromagnetic fields. Unwanted interference can be very high depending on the nature of the devices and, primarily, their surroundings (mobile phones, computers, etc.). WBT-0110 nextgenTM as well was designed as a perfect RCA connector for digital connections, the new WBT-0102 Ag optimises analogue connections. The WBT-0102 Ag is more conductive with the contact element less connected to the brass clamping sleeve to provide the necessary electromagnetic shielding.

For soldering your WBT, we recommend using the silver tin WBT-0800, which is gentle on the surface.
