The clamping mechanism, which works like the spindle of a drill, firmly locks the external contact against the RCA socket. The high clamping pressure not only ensures a secure connection, but also minimises transition resistance. In addition, any variation in the size of the external contact of a socket is compensated for, thus ensuring a perfect fit.

The clamping sleeve is designed in two sections, so that the front part moves freely while the rear part is rotated. This eliminates the risk of the contact elements twisting.

The central pin is ideally grooved and shaped to provide a stable and elastic contact that ensures a durable and reliable electrical connection with absolutely minimal transition resistance.

The metal parts are made of a special copper alloy and are plated with 24-carat gold to prevent oxidation, which could adversely affect contact quality.

The insulation inside the connector is made of heat-resistant Teflon*, an obvious advantage when soldering connecting cables, especially when working with the higher soldering temperatures of lead-free solder. WBT recommends WBT-0800 silver solder, which does not damage the surface (see also solder connection).

In combination with WBT RCA sockets, the contacts are positioned in such a way that the outer conductor comes into contact before the inner conductor, thus avoiding unwanted or even harmful voltage peaks.

A Torx screw ensures reliable strain relief on the cable.
