Audioquest High-Performance USB-Micro Cable for Hi-Fi. 5% silver-plated solid copper conductors
Available length: 0.75m
FEATURES
5% SILVER COPPER SOLID CONDUCTORS: Solid conductors eliminate strand-to-strand interaction distortion and reduce jitter. Silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high frequency applications. These signals travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. Because the surface is pure silver, the performance is very similar to that of a solid silver cable, but much closer to solid copper cable. This is an incredibly economical way to produce USB cables of the highest quality.
INJECTED-CELL HARD FOAM INSULATION: Nitrogen-injected cell hard foam insulation is used exclusively in most AudioQuest audio and video cables. Similar to Foamed-PE, it is injected with nitrogen to create air pockets. Hard' foam is used because the stiffness of the material allows the cable conductors to maintain the same relationship to each other along the entire length of the cable, thus ensuring that the cable's characteristic impedance is consistent.
ALL CONDUCTORS ARE CONTROLLED FOR RF NOISE DIRECTIONALITY
3-LAYER CARBON-BASED NOISE DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS): 100% shield coverage is easy to achieve. Preventing captured radio interference (RFI) from the modulation of the equipment's ground reference requires QA's Noise Dissipation System (NDS). Conventional shielding systems typically absorb and then discharge noise/ RF energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical 'reference' ground plane, which in turn causes signal distortion. Alternating layers of metal NDS and carbon-filled synthetics 'shield the screen', absorbing and reflecting most of this noise / RF energy before it reaches the grounded layer.
DIGITAL AUDIO THROUGH USB: There are significant and audible differences between USB cables. We are not sure how this is possible, since USB is supposedly a purely digital interface, however, the sound differences are repeatable and consistent from one system to another. A better USB cable makes a better digital audio cable, full stop.
