MORE THAN PERFECT SURFACE COPPER SOLID CONDUCTORS (PSC+): Solid conductors prevent both electrical and magnetic wire-to-wire interaction, the main sources of distortion. The quality of the surface is crucial because a conductor can be regarded as a guide for both the fields inside a conductor and the magnetic fields extending outside the conductor. The surprisingly smooth and pure surface of all AudioQuests Perfect-Surface metals almost eliminates hardness and greatly increases clarity compared to inferior materials. The high purity Perfect-Surface copper + further reduces distortion caused by grain boundaries, which exist within any metal conductor, almost eliminating hardness and greatly increasing clarity compared to OFHC, OCC, 8N and other coppers.

ASYMMETRIC DOUBLE-BALANCED GEOMETRY: Designed for single-ended applications, asymmetrical double-balanced geometry offers relatively low impedance to ground for a richer, more dynamic experience. While many single-ended cable designs use a single path for both grounding and shielding, double-balanced designs separate the two for cleaner, quieter performance.

FEP AIR-TUBE INSULATION (FEP IS A FLUOROPOLYMER): Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Air, however, absorbs almost no energy and FEP is the best extrudable solid insulation, absorbing less energy than other materials. Using FEP Air-Tube insulation, with almost nothing but air around the solid conductors, improves the sound focus and dynamics of an audio system.

DIELECTRIC POLARISATION SYSTEM WITH RADIOFREQUENCY TRAP: All insulation between two or more conductors is also a dielectric whose properties affect signal integrity. When the dielectric is unbiased, the dielectric involvement (non-linear energy absorption and release) causes different amounts of delay (phase shift) for different frequencies and energy levels, which is a real problem for very time-sensitive multi-octave audio. The inclusion of an RF trap (developed for AudioQuest's Niagara series power supply products) ensures that RF noise is not induced into the signal conductors by DBS field elements.

3-LAYER CARBON-BASED NOISE DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS): 100% shield coverage is easy to achieve. Preventing captured radio interference (RFI) from the modulation of the equipment's ground reference requires QA's Noise Dissipation System (NDS). Conventional shielding systems typically absorb and then discharge noise/ RF energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical 'reference' ground plane, which in turn causes signal distortion. Alternating layers of metal NDS and carbon-filled synthetics 'shield the screen', absorbing and reflecting most of this noise / RF energy before it reaches the grounded layer.

COLD-WELDED SILVER PLATING DIRECTLY ON HIGH-PURE RED COPPER CONNECTORS: Direct silver plating is optimised for sound. It sounds opaque because there is no underlying layer of shiny nickel that causes distortion.
