SUPRA Classic 2x4.0/H is a relatively flexible 4 sq. mm bipolar cable containing tinned OFC multi-strand copper with a purity grade of 5N, i.e. greater than 99.999%. By reducing the so-called skin effect and decreasing current jumps between the wire surfaces, the tin contributes to better sound quality.
The sheathing is made of PE FRHF.
This series covers all Hi-Fi applications from low-power systems (such as rear speakers in home-theatre systems) up to high-power systems with long cable lengths.

The conductors are individually tinned (with pure tin) OFC copper in such a way as to minimise the skin effect by acting as a semi-Litz-type cable.
Furthermore, this tinning process (not silver plating!) helps to limit conductor jumps, thus transforming the multi-strand cable into a kind of solidcore (single conductor).
Supra claims that the advantage of pure tin over silver lies in the fact that copper and tin ‘mix’ together rather than creating a kind of diodic ‘barrier’ like that between copper and silver. In addition, pure tin protects the OFC copper from oxidation.

The technical specifications of the CLASSIC 2x4.0/H (4 is the mm2 cross-sectional area) claim a resistance of 4.3 Ohms per km (kilometre!) and an inductance of 0.55 µH per metre.
